“Human rights could not always be the main consideration in international relations.”

This is a quote from Bernard Kouchner, the french foreign minister. Finally, a politician says, plainly, what we’ve seen and known all along. Human life, at least some of it, is to be sacrificed for money and economic relations between two political powers. Here it’s France and China. Sadly, this is only one example.

Kouchner Backtracks on Olympics Boycott

Why people put any faith in political leaders solving our problems is beyond me. How many people can be sacrificed, murdered, tortured, imprisoned, because politicians have their bank accounts as priority number one?

What’s really shocking to us here is that Bernard Kouchner founded the Doctor’s Without Borders organization. How could a man with his passion for humanity sink so low? Shame on you, Bernard. Another example of power corrupting.

As long as we have leaders like this guiding nations there will never be freedom or peace for all. Politicians like Bernard Kouchner help keep people, like those in Tibet, at the mercy of political powers like China.
